Accessibility Statement

PharmaCare GmbH operates the online shop einfachversorgen.de. We want everyone to be able to use our shop, including people with visual, hearing, motor or learning impairments. This statement describes what we do to achieve that, where gaps remain and how to reach us. It applies to the website www.einfachversorgen.de and is based on the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG) and its regulation (BFSGV).

What we offer

Einfachversorgen is an online shop for medical aids and care products: catheters and urine collection, absorbent incontinence products, ostomy care, bowel management, orthoses and care aids. You can search and compare products, add them to the cart and order, submit a prescription online, request a free care package and read our guide articles. The shop is available in German and English.

How ordering works

  1. You choose a product via the categories, the search or the filters.
  2. You add it to the cart and proceed to checkout.
  3. You enter your delivery and billing address and choose a payment method. You can order as a guest or create a customer account.
  4. You receive an order confirmation by e-mail. We ship on working days with DHL.

If you have a prescription, you can upload it as a photo or PDF under “Submit prescription”. We settle the billing with your health insurer and get back to you.

You can also order or get advice by phone. Our customer service is happy to help you with every step, including filling in forms.

How we implement accessibility

We follow the European standard EN 301 549 and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA. In the shop this means:

  • Keyboard operation: All menus, filters, forms and buttons can be used without a mouse. A “Skip to content” link at the top of each page bypasses the navigation. The active element is always visibly highlighted.
  • Screen readers: Pages have a clear heading structure, named regions for navigation, content and footer, and labelled form fields and buttons.
  • Images: Product images carry an alternative text with product name and manufacturer. Purely decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers.
  • Contrast and text size: Text and buttons meet the required contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1. Text can be enlarged in the browser up to 200% without losing content. The shop adapts to small screens.
  • Plain language: Product and guide texts are written in plain language. Technical terms are explained. Guides start with a section “Key points at a glance”.
  • Forms: Required fields are marked, error messages name the affected field and say what to do.
  • Several channels: Everything you can do in the shop you can also do by phone or e-mail.

Light and dark view

You can choose between a light and a dark view. The default is “Automatic”: the shop then follows your operating system setting and changes with it. The switch sits in the bar at the top next to the language selector; the full choice of Automatic, Light and Dark is in the footer under “Appearance”.

If you explicitly choose light or dark, that choice applies regardless of your operating system. It is stored in your browser and applies on your next visit; on another device you set it again.

Both views meet the required contrast ratios of at least 4.5:1 for text and 3:1 for interactive elements. Product images keep their light background in the dark view as well, because that is how the manufacturers supply them.

What is not yet accessible

Despite our efforts, some content does not yet fully meet the requirements:

  • Product videos: The embedded YouTube unboxing videos have no subtitles and no audio description. The content shown is, however, described in the product text.
  • Manufacturer documents: Instructions for use and data sheets from manufacturers (PDF) are partly not accessible. On request we explain their content by phone.
  • Checkout and payment: Order completion and payment processing run on the Shopify platform and its payment providers. We have only limited influence on these steps and review them regularly.
  • Cookie notice: The cookie notice comes from a third-party provider. We are working to make it fully operable with keyboard and screen readers.
  • Dark view outside the shop: Checkout and the customer account are provided by Shopify and always stay light, as does the cookie notice. Moving there is visible as a jump in brightness.

We improve the shop continuously and test it at least once a year and after major changes, using automated tools and manual checks.
